Ideas for my short film
As a class we were told that for our short films to be successful, we were best to think of a situation first. We were told this as the maximum length for our film is five minutes so, unlike a conventional feature film we cannot afford to think of a long and complicated synopsis. Our short films could also be based on exisiting texts such as...
- Monologues
- Poems
- Song lyrics
These are some of the ideas that I considered for my short film:
- Using a poem either to follow or to use as a stimulus to create a new story
- Someone with O.C.D
- A young child who's afraid of the dark - seen from their point of view with lots of close-ups and voice over
- Revising for exams - the pressure of doing well and not disappointing yourself and family
- Walking home and thinking you're being followed, when you aren't
- Using a monologue to base it on, (could even use it as a stimulus to create a new story)
- Morning after a 'wild' party, dealing with a hangover and figuring out what you did the previous night
- Using song lyrics. Either a song with a clear narrative to follow or using the lyrics as a stimulus to create a new story
- A child or teenager reluctantly meeting their grandparents which would be shown from their point of view with lots of close-ups and voice over
